REM-B Hydraulics uses Enerpac pump to improve lifting security

Belgium based REM-B Hydraulics has developed a hydraulic shackle release powerpack based on Enerpac’s cordless XC-Series hydraulic pump for connecting and releasing a thousand tonne, 85 m high, offshore wind turbine bases during quayside lifting onto a pontoon.

REM-B Hydraulics developed the powerpacks for worldwide steel development company, Smulders. The self-contained, remote-controlled hydraulics powerpacks are a safer alternative to lengthy lengths of hydraulic hoses linked to a quayside pump.
Lifting 85m excessive fabricated turbine bases from the quayside on to a barge for shipping offshore requires shackles to connect the turbine base to a three-point lifting body and crane. Engaging and releasing the shackles is completed using a double appearing valve arrangement powered by quayside pump linked by lengthy hoses. Smulders was looking for a much less complicated and safer methodology of participating and releasing the shackles without the necessity for lengthy hoses.
Attached to เกจวัดแรงดันco2 of the lifting body, the REM-B Hydraulics’ system removes the requirement for long hoses through the use of a battery-powered, Enerpac XC pump to function a bi-directional valve connected to a cylinder that moves the pin connecting the shackle. The entire system is contained in a compact metallic case with an exterior aerial linking each unit to a wi-fi controller. For elevated security, the shackle pins are activated sequentially.
Weighing 9.9 kg, the Enerpac XC-Series hydraulic pump is supplied with an environment friendly electric motor powered by an industrial grade 28-volt, Lithium-Ion battery, delivering exceptional pace and run time and is designed for remote outside locations.
